Open-Minded
I love when the primary objective is to understand first. Instead of solely arguing your point, the goal is to understand the perspective of the other.
Honest
I love when no matter the circumstance, being truthful is a priority. I’m 1000% more likely to understand an ugly truth, than to appreciate a lie told to cover up the situation.
Humor
Life runs much more smoothly when we’re able to laugh through it all. It’s so easy for me to become overly critical, so being surrounded by laughter is a must.
Empathetic
This is something that means an infinite amount to me; it’s a running motif–in my personal observations–of what the world needs so much more of. It’s incredibly unattractive when someone is so caught up in their own thoughts and emotions that they neglect to think about how their actions are affecting others. It’s amazing how a little compassion and thoughtfulness will change a situation.
Communication
I appreciate when I am heard. As good as I am at reading social cues, it is not equivalent to reading someone’s mind. I’ve learned that you cannot make assumptions about something if you didn’t directly communicate it or acknowledge it.
Independence
I value my own time and space. I appreciate you being there for me, but also being able to do my own thing while you do yours. Needing someone is different than wanting them around.
Unapologetically Authentic
If I’m a 1 (wing 9), then I definitely gravitate towards 4’s. I love, love, love, loooove individuality. I love when you have the confidence to follow your passion and do what you want to do, regardless of the judgement of others. Be authentic. Be genuine. My heart belongs with creatives.
Affection
Too often, I get into moods where I don’t feel like speaking. Mostly it’s because I’m dealing with something internally, and it’s not developed enough for me to communicate it properly. I’m aware that this can come off very cold–which is why I appreciate those that can use affection to break through my personal perplexity.
Trust
To get to a certain depth with me, I need to know that you are dependable and have integrity. This is something that can be hard to earn, but easy to destroy.
Ambitious
Dreams? Goals? Aspirations? We don’t have to have it all figured out. What is important though, is your motivation and commitment to betterment. It’s part of my life’s calling to want to help people–but I can’t help those who aren’t trying to help themselves.
